Shenzhen, the trillion-level energy storage industry center!

Previously, Shenzhen City issued "Several Measures to Support the Accelerated Development of the Electrochemical Energy Storage Industry in Shenzhen" (referred to as the "Measures"), proposing 20 encouraging measures in areas such as industrial ecology, industrial innovation capabilities, energy storage manufacturing levels, and business models to accelerate the construction of a trillion-level world-class new energy storage industry center. Shenzhen CPPCC members also brought proposals related to electrochemical energy storage.

According to statistics until now, Shenzhen has 6,990 energy storage companies, with a registered capital of 233.4 billion Yuan RMB and about 340,000 employees.

Despite having a large-scale enterprise group and personnel, in the field of electrified energy storage, industrial development is currently in the primary and extensive stage of development - industrial development forces are scattered; the talent echelon still needs to be effectively integrated.

Regarding this, member of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference suggested strengthening the monitoring of industrial development trends and industry exchanges, and gathering the power of the government, enterprises and scientific research institutions to carry out research on technical routes, talent teams, and key links in the industrial chain and value chain. Provide information services on industrial policy, technological innovation, market demand, etc. to enterprises in the industrial chain to promote the high-quality development of the electrochemical energy storage industry.

Member of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Political Consultative Conference also suggested that energy storage power station assets be included in the scope of pilot projects for real estate investment trust funds (REITs) in the national infrastructure field. Second, solve and lead international certification issues. Support leading energy storage companies and provide policy preferences to key energy storage supply chain companies.

In addition, energy storage safety issues are also one of the pain points that the industry needs to solve urgently. According to statistics, more than 100 energy storage safety accidents have occurred around the world since 2011, and 42 accidents occurred in the past 2 years. There is an urgent need to strengthen the development of energy storage safety technology.

Cheng Huiming, member of the Shenzhen CPPCC, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and director of the Carbon Neutral Technology Institute of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, suggested strengthening the research and development of key electrochemical energy storage materials to improve battery low-temperature start-up, low-temperature endurance, and cycle life. , calendar life, rate, energy density and safety and other technical indicators; promote the research and development of intelligent, automated and low-energy technology for electrochemical energy storage systems to improve the operating efficiency and safety of the system; strengthen the integration technology of electrochemical energy storage systems Research and development to achieve efficient operation and optimized control of the system.

In addition to electrochemical energy storage policies, CPPCC members attending the meeting also made suggestions for other new energy storage policies.
