January 4 (Renewables Now) – Israel has awarded 608.95 MW of projects in its second tender for solar-plus-storage capacity, the country’s Electricity Market Regulatory Authority announced last week.
The tender set up a final tariff of ILS 0.1745 (USD 0.0544/EUR 0.0443) per kWh, as compared to ILS 0.199/kWh achieved in the initial tender round held in the summer of 2020. Winning projects will sell power at the specific price for a term of 23 years.
The 33 successful proposals were submitted by seven developers. Israel-based developers Doral Group Renewable Energy Resources LTD and SolGreen secured the largest losts, of 200 MW and 95.6 MW, respectively. EDF Energies Nouvelles Israel Ltd, part of French energy group EDF, won 90 MW and Israel’s Enlight Renewable Energy got 82 MW. The list of all winners is available in the table.
